Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNO): The Department of Paediatrics at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has raised concerns over the rising cases of Acute Liver Failure (ALF) linked to unproven treatments by some quacks.
In an official communique, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Head of the Department of Paediatrics at GMC has urged Principal GMC Srinagar to take strong measures against the practice of quackery.
“With profound reverence and humble submission it is to request your august self to protect public health and safety, we need to take some strong measures against the practice of quackery,” reads the official communique.
“During past few years there has been several cases of Acute Liver Failure, who were previously discharged from this hospital, and after leaving the hospital, they went to some place in Dara Harwan to get miracle cures, wherein they get some unproven medical treatments and some complementary therapies and land in ICU with ALF and die,” it reads.
“Kindly take all possible necessary measures against such unqualified individuals to safeguard future generations,” it starts further—(KNO)
